Welcome. This Privacy Policy applies to the software, browser extensions, and developer tools (collectively referred to as "Services") created and maintained by Andrii Liashenko (OstinUA) and the FCTostin Team.
We are committed to protecting your personal information and your right to privacy. If you have any questions or concerns about this policy, or our practices with regards to your personal information, please contact us at ostinostin23@gmail.com.
Key Summary: We build tools to automate tasks (like checking ads.txt or managing Factorio blueprints). We do not sell your data, and our extensions operate primarily on your device (client-side).
1. Information We Collect
Our Services are designed to minimize data collection. We categorize data into two types:
1.1. Personal Data You Provide
We do not collect personal information (such as name, address, or phone number) unless you voluntarily provide it to us, for example:
- When you contact us for support via email or Telegram.
- When you submit an Issue or Pull Request on GitHub.
1.2. Automatically Collected Technical Data
When you use our Chrome Extensions or Web Tools, we may collect anonymous usage statistics to improve stability. This includes:
- Browser version and type (e.g., Chrome 120.0).
- Operating system (e.g., Windows, macOS).
- Error logs (stack traces) in case of a crash.
2. How We Use Permissions
Our Chrome Extensions require specific permissions to function. We use these strictly for the tool's core functionality:
- "activeTab" / "tabs": Required to read the current page's content only when you click the extension icon.
(Example: To find specific text lines or data on a page you are viewing).
- "storage": Used to save your user preferences (e.g., language settings, dark mode) locally on your device.
- "host_permissions": Required to verify external links.
(Example: Checking if a URL in a file returns a 200 OK or 404 Error status).
- "downloads": Used solely to allow you to save generated files (e.g., exporting a clean text file or blueprint string) to your computer.
3. Data Storage and Security
We prioritize Local Processing.
- Client-Side Execution: The majority of data processing happens directly in your browser. We do not transfer your browsing history or file contents to our servers.
- No Database: We do not maintain a database of user profiles or browsing habits.
- GitHub: Our code is open-source. You can inspect exactly how your data is handled by visiting our GitHub Repositories.
4. Third-Party Services
Our tools may interact with third-party platforms to provide specific features:
- Google Chrome Web Store: Handles the distribution and automatic updates of our extensions.
- Factorio / Steam: Tools related to gaming may link to Steam Community services.
- GitHub: Used for hosting code and issue tracking.
We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these third-party services.
5. Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. The updated version will be indicated by an updated "Revised" date and the updated version will be effective as soon as it is accessible. We encourage you to review this privacy policy frequently to be informed of how we are protecting your information.
